Welcome to the Archbishop Ryan Marching Band Alumni Association!

Object:

The association strives to support the current marching band program while providing a venue for all marching band alumni to maintain friendships through performance and social events.  Furthermore, the ARMBAA will support its members, both professionally and personally, wherever possible.

Who is a member of the ARMBAA?

Alumni Membership shall be granted to any person over the age of 18 who was at one time a participating, uniformed member of the Archbishop Ryan High School Marching Band or any of the marching related activities (indoor guard, drum line, twirlers, RAM, etc).  Students currently enrolled in high school are not eligible for membership.  Members may vote on all motions and elections brought before the association.

Associate Membership may be granted to any non-alumni who have expressed interest in helping the organization (ex. band parents, former staff, current staff, administrators, etc).  Anyone can be nominated in writing, and the elected officers shall determine membership based on the nominations.  Associate members have all of the rights and privileges of an Alumni Member.

Committees:

There are 5 standing committees in the association. Most require very little time commitment. If you are interested in sitting on a committee, please contact the president or come to one of our general meetings. We're always looking for new voices and opinions! These standing committees are:

• Activities Committee: shall plan, organize, conduct, and supervise all fundraising and social activities. The chairperson shall appoint coordinators for major activities if necessary and ensure that sufficient members have been assigned to those activities.


• Alumni Outreach Committee: shall be responsible for all facets of public relations, outreach, and contacting of marching band alumni.  This committee will be responsible for maintaining the website, the alumni contact information database, the iContact email service, as well as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc and will serve as the interface between the organization and its members.


• Constitution Committee: shall review all proposed amendments, and recommend them to the membership for a vote. Furthermore, this committee shall serve as the association’s “supreme court” in all procedural matters including, but not limited to, the removal of officers.  The committee is a standing committee, but only meets when an amendment has been proposed or when otherwise needed. 


• Scholarship Committee: shall oversee the application process and the awarding of scholarships. Furthermore, the members of this committee shall actively seek additional funds and recommend named scholarships to the association in an effort to broaden the scope of our scholarship program.


• Hall of Fame Committee: shall oversee the nomination and election process for the Archbishop Ryan Marching Band Hall of Fame and will work with the Alumni Outreach Committee to promote involvement by the membership.
